Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!
My name is Melodie Huynh, and I have been the Principal here at Hidden Hills for the past 11 years.
I have been in the field of Education for the past thirty years. After graduating from the University of Victoria, I began my career teaching middle school on Vancouver Island. I then moved from Canada to California and started teaching high school Special Education at Castro Valley High School. After that, I taught in the elementary grades for ten years (mostly at 5th grade). I was then asked to lead our Summer School program and become the Principal of Palomares Elementary. After multiple years in this role, I took on the added responsibility of serving as a Curriculum Coordinator at the district level. My last few years in Castro Valley were in the role as Principal of Jensen Ranch Elementary. I have been very fortunate to serve in exceptionally high-performing schools where academics are a priority, and families are involved and invested . . . not only that, but we have great kids!
I have two children of my own, Ethan and Matthew. I am also working on obtaining my doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership. I love to learn, and I hope to instill this passion in our students every day!
